We’ve all heard of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (known locally as Llanfair Pwllfwyn or Llanfair P.G), the longest place name in Wales and the second longest in the world, only to be beaten by a town in New Zealand1 (source: World Atlas). But there are plenty of other places with long names hidden across Wales, and I can almost guarantee that you won’t be able to pronounce most of them.

Most of these ridiculously long names can be found in North and Mid-Wales with Powys being the county with the most places along the 30 longest.
