Partnership Disclosure
To achieve my goal of creating the #1 resource for people visiting Wales, I aim to provide unbiased recommendations and advice based on my own experience and knowledge as someone who has lived in Wales all my life.
This is why I rarely accept free products or services unless it is a brand I already like or I would willingly pay for out of my own pocket anyway. I will always clearly identify when this is the case.
Where I have accepted free products in return for a mention, I will mark it as 'gifted' and where I have been paid to recommend a product, I will mark it as 'ad'.
Affiliate Disclosure
I am an affiliate for several online platforms that I already love to use, this includes (not an exhaustive list but covers the main ones):
- booking.com
- amazon.co.uk
- secretescapes.co.uk
- holidaycottages.co.uk
- sykescottages.co.uk
When you click any of these links on Wales Guidebook, you should expect them to be an affiliate link.
What is an affiliate? An affiliate is someone who recommends products or services and gets a commission when a customer purchases through their unique link. The commission is paid for by the partner and not by the customer so it will never cost you more to use my links.
For example, if you book a hotel through an affiliate link to Booking.com, you will pay the same price for your room and the hotel will receive the same rate as usual. However, Booking.com will share their commission with me.
Affiliate links work using a cookie which is only activated when you click the link. These cookies do not store any personal data but if you make a purchase, it lets the platform know that I was the one who referred you so they know who to send the commission to.
Again, I will only be an affiliate for brands I use or believe are of good value to my readers.
